Most of us may have had times where we wish we had been able to be more confident in a situation.

It may have been at a job interview, completing a presentation, talking to someone, learning a new skill or being able to start a new venture.

Often when we look back at situations that have happened and we did not think we came across as confidently as we could have or should have; we give ourselves a hard time and go back into that same mind-set when a similar situation occurs.

During the session there will be demonstration and practice techniques using NLP and mindfulness on how to create your own confidence when you need it and how not to give yourself a hard time if situations don’t go as well as you had hoped for.

Whether you have wanted to improve your confidence for years or just recently decide to, this session will give you strategies that you can use to improve your future confidence.

Most of us will have memories of situations when we wished that we could have been more calm and even remembering experiences from the past can stir feelings and emotions which we would rather not have.

This can sometimes effect current experiences or make us feel anxious about future situations.

When we restore calmness, we can interact with people in a much more effective and positive way and situations that may have at times seemed difficult are not as challenging.

Benefits of being calm include:

  • reduction in stress and creating the ability to relax
  • filtering out negativity
  • increased focus and clearer vision
  • develop a calm confidence
  • become more effective and increase productivity
  • communicate effectively
  • learn to let go

Using techniques from EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) and NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) you can be equipped with resources to create your own calmness whenever and wherever you need it.

This session will include demonstration and practical use of techniques to help restore calmness in times of anxiety, stress, anger and upset.

No previous experience of EFT or NLP is required as full explanations and demonstrations of techniques will be given.

Do you often set yourself targets or goals, only to find that they are impossible to meet or that life just gets too busy to make time for committing to the goals?

When this happens, you may find that you beat yourself up and use internal dialogue that can be really unhelpful. This in turn usually means that you end up stuck and not being able to progress towards the goal.

The inner chatter of a busy or confused mind then intensifies what may have started out as a straightforward task into something that may now seem impossible.

In this taster session from the Refresh and Recalibrate day, you will be guided through some strategies to identify alternatives to setting unachievable goals and how to deal with diversions along the way as well as being kinder to your inner self if things don’t go according to plan.

Presentation: Create Your Own Happiness

Happiness

When we are in a happy state we usually find that we have more resilience in dealing with everyday tasks.

For some people a happy state seems to come naturally and for others they strive to gain happiness from other people or future situations that they are looking forward to.

During challenging or difficult times, it is sometimes hard to access a happier state which can make problems or difficulties seem bigger than they actually are.

When we interact with other people, how we come across impacts on the relationships that we form. When we are in a happy state the connection that we make with others is often much richer and our behaviours are often reflected back at us.

Happiness heightens our capacity to learn. Consider how a child learns through play and with that enjoyment they are able to absorb more information. This is something that can dissipate as we move through the school system and through work as we are moulded to present ourselves in a formal manner.

During this session, there will be demonstration and practice techniques on how to create a happier state. This session will give you strategies that you can use to access resources within you to have happier state when you need it.

Often, the simplest actions that happen as a child are the best way to reduce worries that can lead to stress.

When a child plays the natural act of laughter or an activity like colouring in is a brilliant way to remove anxiety.

As adults, sometimes the creativity that we have when we are young and the freedom to express ourselves is lost in a grown up world. We are encouraged to be sensible and behave in a certain way which can be restrictive.

Recently, it has been reported that most of the top 10 selling books are mindfulness colouring in books for adults.

Colour Me Happy will begin with a short laughter session, followed by relaxation and then some therapeutic colouring in.
