We already have a full roster of presenters and I’ll be posting announcements about presentations during August and September. If you haven’t already, sign up to the ChangeCamp Newsletter to get updates on ChangeCamp presentations and events.

There are a few changes to the ticketing arrangements this year:

  • There are now only two types of ticket. A discretionary fee for the retired, unwaged or students and a standard fee for everyone else. Both types of tickets are only available online, there will be no ticket sales at the door. These tickets are available until they are sold out or 18th October 2017 (whichever comes first).
  • There are ‘only’ 96 tickets available. Last year there were 90 tickets available and the event completely sold out. I have slightly increased the number of tickets available to 96 which is the comfortable maximum possible for the venue.
  • The price of the tickets have increased. Both types of ticket have gone up in price by (a very modest) £2.50.

I hope to see you at the event in October (even if that seems a very long time away).

Thank You!

Phew, that’s another ChangeCamp completed (the 17th!). A big thanks to everyone who contributed and took part in a great Spring ChangeCamp 2017. I hope you all had as good a day as I did.

Thank you to everyone who came along to learn and explore the fascinating world of psychological change and who joined in the event so willingly.

Thank you to all the presenters who gave their time and expertise freely. As far as I could tell a lot of people got a lot out of the presentations.

A big thank you to the people who helped make ChangeCamp happen behind the scenes. Everyone who helped me with the preparation, pitched in on the day to set-up the rooms, and restore them at the end. All the people who helped keep things running through the day at the door and in the hall.

ChangeCamp is a conference on a shoestring, there is no paid help, if it wasn’t for the people who join in and help it just wouldn’t happen. To all of you, and you know who you are, my heartfelt thanks.

I hope you learned a lot on the day, met some lovely people and are looking forward to the Autumn ChangeCamp 2017 is on 21st October.

Hope to see you there.

Andy

Now that the dust has settled after the Autumn ChangeCamp 2016 the ChangeCamp website is going to hibernate for a while.

There will still be the occasional posting of future events and workshops which will also come to you via the ChangeCamp Courier.

You can sign up for the newsletter to the right of this article.

At the end of this year I will start the process of waking up the website for the Spring ChangeCamp 2017 scheduled for 18th March 2017.

I hope to see you then.

In the meantime I wish you a snug winter.

Andy Hunt, ChangeCamp Coordinator

P.S. I’ve change the web hosting service for www.changecamp.co.uk. If you find any faults or mysterious behaviour in the website please let me know and I’ll take care of it. Thanks.

The ChangeCamp Idea Is Spreading This Autumn

If you are interested in low cost, personal or professional development there are now two more ChangeCamp inspired events to attend in the North of England.

ChangeFest – Saturday September 19th, 2015

The Cumbrian Coaching network are running their second ChangeFest event at Brathay, near Ambleside in Cumbria.

I attended the first event and it was great day in a lovely setting.

T:ESS – Saturday October 10th, 2015

There is a new ChangeCamp like event taking place in Saltburn, Cleveland in October. Diane Bowden, a ChangeCamp attendee decided to create a similar event on Teeside.

T:ESS (Tees Enhancing Skills Space) will take place on Saturday 10th October, in Saltburn, Cleveland. (I’m hoping to be able to attend the inaugural event.)

If you are in Cumbria or on Teeside please give these events your support.

I can tell you from personal experience that setting something like this up is no small undertaking.

I can also tell you that it is well worth doing. A lot of people have got a lot of enjoyment and benefit from attending the ChangeCamp events over the years and I’m very happy to see the idea spreading.

The hardest part of this is getting the word out, so please let people who you think might be interested know about these events. Tell them about it, email them, post it on Facebook or tweet it on Twitter (and if you are going offer to help).

If you are a personal change enthusiast you have a lot of opportunities to choose from in the North of England this year. I hope to see some of you at one or other of these events.

Please Note: Although these events are inspired by ChangeCamp and may be organised in the same way they are not part of a ‘ChangeCamp franchise’. Both events are organised independently of the Newcastle ChangeCamps. If you want more information about them please get in touch with the organisers directly
