Presentation: Laughter Yoga And Dabke Dance

Laughter Yoga And Dabke DanceKeith Adams who has always brought Laughter Yoga to Change Camp is unable to attend the Spring 2018 Change Camp and has handed over the reins for this Change Camp session to Karen Mills and Tahira Aslam who will present Laughter Yoga, combined with Dabke Dance.

Laughter Yoga is a unique exercise using movement and laughter as well as the breathing of yoga. Laughing for no reason energises the mind and body based on the idea that fake laughter can lead to real laughter and yet the brain does not know the difference between them. Practiced regularly, laughter can have health and social benefits.

Learn to dance dabke while you are in the session too. Dabke is a middle eastern dance, often danced in a line or a circle, with people holding hands. It is usually enjoyed at weddings and other festive occasions. Dancing is great for co-ordinating the mind-body, and dancing dabke is a fun, socially shared experience, which has proven to be good for the mind and body, reducing both stress and tension and improving happiness levels at the
same time.

What are you celebrating today?

The session will consist of Laughter Yoga followed by Dabke Dance and then relaxation meditation.

No previous experience of either Laughter Yoga or Dabke Dance is required and the session is open to all and the aim of the session is to have fun

Ever increasing numbers of professionals are becoming certified Havening Techniques Practitioners. Presentation: Create Your Own Calmness

Most of us will have memories of situations when we wished that we could have been more calm and even remembering experiences from the past can stir feelings and emotions which we would rather not have.

This can sometimes effect current experiences or make us feel anxious about future situations.

When we restore calmness, we can interact with people in a much more effective and positive way and situations that may have at times seemed difficult are not as challenging.

Benefits of being calm include:

  • reduction in stress and creating the ability to relax
  • filtering out negativity
  • increased focus and clearer vision
  • develop a calm confidence
  • become more effective and increase productivity
  • communicate effectively
  • learn to let go

Using techniques from EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) and NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) you can be equipped with resources to create your own calmness whenever and wherever you need it.

This session will include demonstration and practical use of techniques to help restore calmness in times of anxiety, stress, anger and upset.

No previous experience of EFT or NLP is required as full explanations and demonstrations of techniques will be given.

As we cautiously peep out from the dark and stormy depths of Winter everyone’s desperately looking forward to a healthy dose of Spring sunshine to help raise our spirits and breathe fresh life into old projects, attitudes and life issues.

The pace of life is so hectic as we juggle work, home and family responsibilities but we’re spending less and less time caring for our own well-being until stress explodes like a time bomb and it feels too late to make simple changes to our busy lives.

Spring is in the air so let’s turn our attention to the important things in life. Unwanted stress is reaching epidemic proportions, with terrible impact on people of all ages from tots to teens and beyond. Stress, worry and anxiety gets in the way of our ability to enjoy life’s simple pleasures – a good night’s sleep, enjoying time with family and friends, even getting in the way of our ability to perform at our best in business and at work.

Just thinking straight and facing the day with confidence and optimism can become difficult once we are gripped by anxiety, worries and unhelpful stress. It’s a cost that can have serious consequences to our health and well-being so taking time out to reflect and rebalance is priceless. Life’s to short not to bother,,,,,we all need to know how to manage our own personal response to everyday worries and stress so let’s get to it and take time out to relax and revive in style!

Often, the simplest actions that happen as a child are the best way to reduce worries that can lead to stress.

When a child plays the natural act of laughter or an activity like colouring in is a brilliant way to remove anxiety.

As adults, sometimes the creativity that we have when we are young and the freedom to express ourselves is lost in a grown up world. We are encouraged to be sensible and behave in a certain way which can be restrictive.

Recently, it has been reported that most of the top 10 selling books are mindfulness colouring in books for adults.

Colour Me Happy will begin with a short laughter session, followed by relaxation and then some therapeutic colouring in.
