Lou is a freelance consultant, facilitator and trainer working in the public sector and specialising in helping individuals and organisations to evolve, seeing change as a positive force for improving quality and enhancing people’s experiences of working in and being served by organisations.
A qualified Humanistic Counsellor, NLP Practitioner, Thinking Environment Facilitator and Relationships Systems Theory Practitioner, with 20 years experience Lou became self-employed in 2009 since when she has worked for a variety of organisations including charities and community groups, third sector organisations and local authorities, focussing mainly on supporting them to respond and adapt to the challenges they are facing and to embrace change as a positive force for continuous improvement.
In recent years, she has been particularly focused on developing more “human workplaces”, exploring flatter, leaner organisational structures in which individuals can flourish.
Outside of work, Lou and her husband are keen travellers and love to explore other countries and cultures. When not working or travelling, they make the most of their spare time walking the fells of their local Lake District National Park and climbing the Munros of Scotland. She is also an avid reader, novice drummer and occasional tandem-cyclist, a passionate environmentalist and a keen follower of politics.
Lou describes herself as a continual learner, who thrives on new challenges and opportunities.
